What is Foreign Education?
So when an aspirant is planning to get foreign education they apply to a college or a university abroad, probably they would be asked to provide their test scores for the SAT examination for under-graduate programs and a GMAT or GRE examination for graduate programs.
These foreign education exams are standardized entrance examinations for judging the aspirant’s educational performance, while these entrance examinations is an important consideration in the admission process at schools, colleges, and universities abroad
The aspirant can still overcome a low score by displaying his strengths in other areas, such as his school grades, his application essay, or his experiences, which can help him get admission abroad.

These can be achieved by clearing competitive international entrance examination.
The need at times may be a combination of one or more of these and other tests or examinations which would be specific to that country and its educational system.

IELTS: International English Language Testing System
Most of the educational institutions, faculties, government agencies and professional organizations around the world recognize IELTS score as a trusted and valid indicator of an individual’s ability to communicate in the English language.
IELTS test is designed to assess the language ability of non-native speakers of English who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.
Since 1989, IELTS examination has been proven and trusted worldwide to provide a secure, global, authentic and customer-focused test which measures true to life ability to communicate in the English language.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the ability of an individual to communicate in English across all of the four language skills which are Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
The IELTS test focuses on the different ways of the “International English Langauge”, which includes British English, American English and other varieties like Australian or South African English.
GMAT: Graduate Management Admission Test
GMAT is an examination for the computer-adaptive standardized test in Mathematics and the English language for measuring the aptitude of and aspirant to succeed academically in graduate business studies.
Business schools commonly use the test as one of many selection criteria for admission into graduate business administration programs (e.g. MBA, Master of Accountancy, etc.) principally in the United States, but also in other English speaking countries.
This test is delivered via computer at various locations around the world.
In those international locations where an extensive network of computers has not yet been established.
The GMAT examination is offered either at a temporary computer-based testing center on a limited schedule or as a paper-based test (given once or twice a year) at local testing centers.
As of September 2010, the fees to take the test was US$250 worldwide.
TOEFL: Test of English As A Foreign Language
For TOEFL examination there are 4 sections which are Listening to Comprehensions, Structure, Reading Comprehensions and Writing.
Many schools may require a paper-based score of at least 550 or a computer-based score of at least 213, for an individual to get enroll with them.
A good score of higher than 600 to 650 can improve an aspirants chances of getting into the school of there choice.
TOEFL is a prerequisite examination for those students who are wishing to begin there undergraduate or graduate study in the United States.
There is a higher score also required for some majors examinations.
Even if you speak English quite frequently, you should not avoid taking the test online.
TOEFL is a computer examination which can be given year-round. This test for English language proficiency is developed by the college board.
And most colleges and universities require international students whose native language is not English to take this test for admission.
GRE: Graduate Record Examination
GRE is in many ways similar to that of the SAT. It tests students on there Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills (mathematics), and their Analytical Reasoning Skills.
Both GRE and SAT are administered by the Educational Testing Services and they have similar question formats.
Though the latter SAT is designed by the College Board and is intended for a different level of education.
This computerized examination is offered year-round. But only during the first 3 weeks of every calendar month.
GRE commonly required applicants to graduate schools in the fields other than business, law, and medicine.
SAT: Scholastic Aptitude Test
There are two subjects tested, verbal skills and math skills.
There is some controversy in the United States as to the value of the SAT, but it continues to weigh heavily in any college’s evaluation process.
The SAT is administered by the private, non-profit College Board, and is developed, published, and scored by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
Most students take this exam in June, however, many students take the exam again in the fall of their senior year, and because they were not satisfied with the score they received in June.
SAT is a standardized test which is formerly called the Scholastic Aptitude Tests and Scholastic Assessment Tests.
It is frequently used by colleges and universities in the United States to aid in the selection process of incoming fresh admissions. There are around 1.8 million students who take the SAT each year.
PTE: Pearson Test Of English
Many things distinguish PTE Academic from its close competitors – IELTS and TOEFL.
The multi-level grading system within the PTE ensures a better understanding of the student’s proficiency in the English language.
The first and foremost distinguishing aspect of the PTE is the scoring pattern and the results.
As these tests are completely computerized, the results are declared much quicker. It typically takes around 5 business days for the results to be out.
This makes it aptly suited for students who are in a bit of a rush to get the results.
The three-hour-long computer-based test focuses on day to day English rather than high-level English language and tests a student on his or her ability to effectively understand the language as spoken daily.
